Taylor Swift's 'Look What You Made Me Do' Breaks Records, Stops 'Despacito'. Here's everything you need to know about this single.

SHE'S known for making digs at former flames and foes in her songs and Taylor Swift's latest single is no exception.

Taylor Swift returned to the pop scene with new track Look What You Made Me Do in August and she hasn't held back when it comes to mocking her fellow celebrities.

Here's everything you need to know about the single.

In a little more than a week since its release, Taylor Swift's new single, "Look What You Made Me Do," has ridden a wave of attention into record-breaking metrics.

Now, "Look" is the new No. 1 song in the country. It broke Adele's record (of 61.6 million plays) for most-streamed debut week by a female artist, with 84.4 million U.S. streams. And, in what must be a bitter disappointment for Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, Swift displaced "Despacito" atop the Hot 100, where it has sat for four months. If "Despacito" had lasted one more week at No. 1, it would have set an all-time record for most weeks at the top of the chart.

Swift is the first woman to top the Hot 100 chart this year.

On video sites, "Look" also broke first-day numbers, drawing in 43.2 million plays on YouTube its first day of release, unseating PSY's 2013 single "Gentleman." Over on Vevo, the song also broke first-day views with more than 30 million.

Who is the song about?

The opening line of the song appears to be referencing her infamous feud with Kanye West, which first began almost a decade ago when the rapper rushed the staged during her acceptance speech at the VMAs.

The pair fell out again last year over Kanye's track, Famous, and whether Taylor approved the lyrics he wrote about her or not, and now she appears to be taking another swipe at him with the line "I don't like your little games/don't like your tilted stage".

During Kanye's Saint Pablo tour last year, he performed on a moving platform which floated above the stage and tilted down into the crowd at the end.

Taylor also talks about someone making her look like a "fool", which again, could well be referencing Kanye and wife Kim Kardashian, after the reality star released audio to prove Taylor did give her husband permission to talk about her on Famous.

Who does Taylor diss in the Look What You Made Me Do video?

If the lyrics weren't enough to get her point across, Taylor has used the video to accompany the single to make numerous references to her recent feuds.

As well as digging at Kanye and Kim - with many believing she mocks Kim's Paris robbery ordeal at one point - Taylor also has a pop at her ex, Calvin Harris by putting her pseudonym "Nils Sjoberg" on a tombstone in the zombie sequence.

Taylor used the name to co-write Calvin's hit song with Rihanna, This is What You Came For, with her involvement never supposed to be made public. But when it was, things kicked off between the former couple, with the DJ saying she was looking for "someone to try and bury", and now she has.

Taylor also poses with her Grammy Award for Album of the Year in the video, in an apparent dig at the people who criticised her for beating Kendrick Lamar at last year's awards.

The singer also makes a dig at former flame Tom Hiddleston, who she enjoyed an infamously whirlwind romance last year.

In one scene, male dancers all wear 'I heart TS' tops, just like Tom did at her Rhode Island home in a cringeworthy display of affection.
